Treatment

Ooglid Asian ingreep

Aesthetic Asian Treatment is performed under local anaesthesia during a day treatment. If you are very nervous before the procedure, we can prescribe sedative medication. It is important that you feel comfortable during the procedure.

Asian eyelid surgery
On the day of your surgery, our surgeon carefully measures and marks the eyelids with a pen to determine where the crease will be. Local anaesthetic is then administered to completely numb the area. The anaesthetic works almost immediately, making the treatment virtually painless.

The procedure is performed using the open technique (also called incision technique). The surgeon makes an incision parallel to the lash line, just above the desired fold, and removes a crescent-shaped strip of skin and excess fat. A few internal sutures are used to suture the incised skin to the muscle to fix the crease. It gives a permanent eyelid crease and the scar falls into the crease making it minimally visible. However, compared to a regular ophthalmoplasty, you need a little more patience. The swelling is gone after a few weeks, but the crease needs to set and needs up to six months before it sinks nicely.

Buccal fat removal
Prior to the treatment, the buccal fatty tissue is felt. After anaesthesia is administered, which works almost immediately, a small incision is made on the inside of the mouth. The fat is removed through the incision, leaving no visible scarring. The wound is then sutured with soluble sutures.

After the treatment, after cooling down for a while, you may go home quietly. Please note that you are not allowed to participate in the wrong independently, so you must be collected.

Aftercare

3.

Aftercare

Thanks to our years of experience in performing cosmetic procedures, we work with a special pre- and after-care protocol. This ensures you are optimally prepared and recover without complications. Usually, pain relief with paracetamol is sufficient after the procedure. We advise you not to drive on the day of surgery and as long as your vision is impaired. We advise you to cool for 15 minutes every hour on the day of surgery using a cool pack or a bag of green peas from the freezer. During cooling, place a piece of gauze between the eyes and the cooling pack.

After surgery, you may experience bruising and swelling of the eyelids and in the face, so you may not be able to close your eyes completely after surgery and may have a pressing sensation in the cheeks. This will recover once the swelling subsides. You should not cut the ends of the stitches yourself. You may shower again the day after surgery. After showering, try to dab the wound dry and not wipe it.

You should not use contact lenses for 2 weeks. You can use make-up again after the sutures are removed, once all scabs have disappeared. We advise you not to smoke until the sutures are removed. Smoking increases the risk of complications. We advise you not to expose the scars to UV sunlight and/or tanning beds for 3 months after the operation.

Risks

Risks

As with any surgical procedure, there are possible complications with the Aesthetic Asian Treatment. These include infection, bleeding and reaction to the anaesthetic. The rare risks of this procedure are problems with eye closure and dry eyes. In some cases, there is a slight asymmetry of the eyes. This can be distressing during the healing process, but often lessens over time. If necessary, an experienced plastic surgeon can correct asymmetry, folds that are too high or too low, and folds that are too deep or too shallow. When in doubt, always contact the specialists at SkinSurgery Clinics.

Treatments

Aesthetic Asian Treatment

The Asian face is unique and can differ in characteristics from western faces. The Aesthetic Asian Treatment is a unique treatment specially designed to refine the Asian appearance.

Aesthetic Asian Treatment - Asian eyelid surgery

Asian eyelid surgery, or double eyelid surgery, is really different from traditional eyelid surgery, or single eyelid. It is therefore important to find a surgeon who fully understands your needs and is experienced in this particular technique.

Aesthetic Asian Treatment - Buccal fat removal

Asian faces can differ from western faces in their features. They have a distinct bone structure and muscle mass compared to western faces, but we also often hear that there is unwanted volume at the bottom of the face.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a question that is not answered? Feel free to contact us Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 and 22:00, at the following number or email.

How soon will you see results after the Aesthetic Asian Treatment?

You will see the results of Asian eyelid surgery after two to three weeks, especially when the swelling starts to go down. However, subtle changes still take place for several months. Keep in mind that the swelling makes the eye crease appear higher than where it eventually falls. So it may initially appear as if there is a difference between the two eyes, but this corrects as the swelling subsides. The crease will eventually settle into the correct position.

There is a small, usually barely visible scar in the eyelid crease, along the incision line, which continues to improve for 12-18 months after surgery.

The results can last for decades, but may diminish over time as the ageing process contributes to the loss of limb contour.

The results of buccal fat removal are optimal after 6 weeks, although the face continues to adapt to the new situation up to 6 months after the procedure.

Are there any risks associated with this procedure?

As with any surgical procedure, there are possible complications with double eyelid or Asian eyelid surgery. These include infection, bleeding and reaction to the anaesthetic. The rare risks of Asian eyelid surgery include difficulty closing the eyes and dry eyes. In some cases, there is a slight asymmetry of the eyes. This can be distressing during the healing process, but often lessens over time. If necessary, an experienced surgeon can correct asymmetry, folds that are too high or too low and folds that are too deep or too shallow.

The risks of fat removal from the mouth are also rare, but may include infection, bleeding, asymmetry and nerve damage.

Follow-up after Aesthetic Asian Treatment

There are always at least two check-up visits after this treatment at Skin + Surgery. We will see you after a week (about 7-9 days) to remove the Asian eyelid surgery sutures and see how you are doing. The doctor will then assess your recovery, wound healing, blueness and swelling. This is also the time when the doctor will let you know if you can already start using the scar cream. After 5-6 weeks, you will come back for a final check-up. The doctor will then have another good idea of how your recovery is progressing and will already be able to assess the final result. Together, we compare the before and after photos so that you can clearly see the difference of the procedure. If an additional check-up is needed in the meantime or afterwards, you can of course schedule it with us.

What are the benefits of the Aesthetic Asian Treatment?

The scars are easily hidden in your new eyelid folds. Besides creating a crease on the upper eyelid, the procedure can also lift sagging eyelids. The procedure provides a larger "platform" for eye shadow and makes applying eyeliner easier. And because the excess skin often hangs over the eyelashes, the eyelashes appear shorter. The surgery can make eyelashes look longer. It is a permanent solution for chubby cheeks, hamster cheeks or a round face. By combining the treatments, you only have one recovery time. It also provides a financial benefit than having the treatments done separately.

What are the disadvantages of the Aesthetic Asian Treatment?

It is important to realise that the procedure is more extensive than a regular eyelid surgery. You will have more bruising and swelling. This can last for 1-2 weeks. A specialised surgeon with knowledge and experience of the Asian face is also an absolute must. The surgery will make your eyes look bigger, but your eyes themselves will not actually get bigger. During the consultation, our surgeon will use a mirror to show you how you would look after this procedure. Because the eye crease is recreated on both eyes, there is a greater risk of eye asymmetry than with traditional surgery. Because you are combining two procedures, your recovery is more intense.

WE ARE SKINSURGERY CLINICS

Specialist in Upper eyelid surgery

Precisely because Asian and Western faces can be so fundamentally different, aesthetic treatments and cosmetic procedures need to be tailored to the face and the person. Most surgeons around the world can work on Western faces, but few specialise in the Asian face. At SkinSurgery Clinics.

Dr Tha-In, is herself of Asian descent, specialising in the Asian face. Her experience and expertise come together in the Aesthetic Asian Treatment, a surgery that helps the Asian eyelid surgery, also called double eyelid surgery or double eyelid, combines with buccal fat removal. This treatment focuses on two distinctive elements of the face: an eye crease is created for larger eyes and an open look, and more contour and V-shape is created to subtly change the shape of the face.
