A beautiful feeling

If I ask myself, when I experience a beautiful feeling, funny and amusing stories automatically come up. For instance, I sometimes unconsciously listen in on conversations in the waiting room while preparing myself for the next consultation. The most special and beautiful things are discussed in our waiting room. Somehow, I notice that women in our clinic dare to show their vulnerability. Compliments are made to each other and you feel a certain closeness. Is it the nerves? Is it the setting of our clinic? Is it the energy, which brings a certain openness and honesty? I love it.

Going to a cosmetic clinic is, of course, heart-stoppingly exciting. Some have just tied the knot to work on themselves after a difficult divorce. The other is recovering after overcoming an illness and wants to give himself a beautiful gift. Dating stories are told in smell and colour. It is striking and at the same time very beautiful that women dare to name their insecurities, to strangers. In our waiting room, women actually want to empower each other and dare to name what they find beautiful about the other person. And you can feel that.

Sometimes you don't know the effect of a compliment. Even if this one is only small. It makes someone's day or actually changes a life. Just that little bit of support you need during your daily struggle. And this got me thinking. Can't we extend this to our daily lives? What will happen if I compliment the girl at the Albert Heijn supermarket about her beautiful eyes or what will happen if I have a chat with an opposite neighbour who lives alone with his dog. This gives food for thought.

We all face insecurities or setbacks. Unconsciously, many people are fighting the same battle. How nice it is that we can help that person with something as simple as making a sincere compliment. Highlight a strong characteristic of the other person, instead of focusing on each other's weakness. The holidays are the perfect time to start this. We can propagate the 'pay it forward' principle. Try giving someone a compliment every day, whether it is a complete stranger or not. Without expecting anything in return. That would make the world a little nicer, wouldn't it? At the very least, you will put a beautiful smile on someone's face. And that already makes you feel beautiful right away.

On behalf of the entire Tha-In Clinics team, I wish everyone a spontaneous, sleek and sparkling 2018. We are very happy and proud to have welcomed and treated everyone over the past few years. Thank you for all your trust.
