A PhilART treatment is almost painless, it is a number of punctures per side. Do you find the treatment exciting or is your skin sensitive? If so, an anaesthetic or numbing cream may be used in consultation with the doctor. The PhilART is then placed using a very narrow needle. Swelling is minimal; if necessary, you could cool down to counteract some redness.
After treatment may you straight home. The skin may still be a little red then. The skin may also be slightly swollen or develop small blue spots. This will go away by itself and is not serious. We recommend avoiding sports and alcohol for at least the first 24 hours. Do not expose the skin to heat (solarium, sauna). The final result will be visible after about 14 days.
The risk of complications is very low. As with any surgery, there is a small risk of infection or allergy.
