During the consultation with the cosmetic doctor, ample time is taken to discuss everything. The cosmetic doctor looks at your face and discusses which injectable is most suitable. You can also ask all your questions and express your wishes. The doctor will tell you how the treatment will proceed and what you can expect of the final result. A good explanation will be given about aftercare, any risks and the end result you can expect. Would you like to undergo the treatment? Then everything will be noted in your file and you will sign the treatment agreement together with the cosmetic doctor. Photographs are taken for your file, which can be compared with the final result.
The injectable will be injected into the discussed area using a very narrow needle. Most injectable treatments are done without anaesthesia. Do you find this an unpleasant feeling? Then a numbing cream can be used in consultation with the doctor. To combat swelling, the skin will be cooled with an ice pack after the treatment.
After treatment, you can go home immediately. Sometimes the skin will still be a little red and small bruises will appear. This will go away by itself and is not serious. You are advised to avoid sports and alcohol for at least the first 24 hours. Do not bring the skin into contact with extreme heat (tanning bed, sauna).

A Profhilo treatment gives optimal results when done as a course of treatment. The advice is to undergo an average of 3 treatments, at intervals of about 4 weeks. For younger skin, 2 treatments are often sufficient. The result of a course of treatment lasts on average 9 months to a year.
Profhilo treatment is suitable for improving skin quality. If you want to remedy mild degrees of skin sagging, superficial wrinkles and redness, Profhilo is a great treatment for you. This also applies to younger skin: from the age of 30 we produce less collagen, so the Profhilo treatment is a nice addition in that case too.

Like other injectable treatments, Profhilo is a relatively easy and quick treatment that takes only 15 minutes on average.
Profhilo is always injected in a standard pattern of five injections on each side of the face: in front of the ears, in the nasolabial fold, in the chin, under the eyes and at the top of the cheeks. After each injection, you may experience a tingling sensation for up to 90 seconds as the substance settles into the skin.
After treatment, you can resume daily activities as normal. You may see some small mosquito bites, though these disappear within 12 to 24 hours.
Results of a Profhilo treatment are natural and subtle. Your skin will look fresher, rested and healthy. If you want drastic change in your face, another treatment may be more appropriate.
If there are obvious signs of ageing, or a specific wrinkle or annoyance, a more targeted filler, such as Juvéderm or Restylane, will be a better option. Profhilo is applied only in the middle and lower parts of the face. Thus, the forehead is not treated. To address this area, Profhilo can be combined with another injectable treatment such as a wrinkle relaxer.
