Injecting lip fillers takes only 10 to 15 minutes. To combat swelling, your lips and the surrounding area are cooled with an ice pack. We can return your lips to their original contour and volume, or even enlarge them slightly. After lip filler injection, your lips may be a little red and swollen, or show some bruising. This is usually minimal. Immediate cooling will counteract the swelling. These mild symptoms are not serious and disappear on their own. The anaesthetic works for about two hours. The treated area may still be slightly unresponsive as a result. This recovers automatically. SkinSurgery uses a specially designed aftercare protocol, for optimal healing and quick recovery. Your treating physician will advise you not to drink alcohol and not to exercise or engage in heavy physical activities for the first 24 hours.
You may resume your daily activities after one day. You will also be allowed to resume make-up put on. In the first week after lip filler injection, avoid exposure to bright sunlight and do not go under the sunbed or to the sauna. It is not recommended to undergo treatment at the beautician or skin therapist in the first two weeks after lip filler treatment. The final result will be visible after 14 days. You will enjoy fuller lips with a natural result for approximately one year.
