Cosmetic care quality framework

SkinSurgery Clinics operates in accordance with the principles of the Cosmetic Care Quality Framework. This quality framework sets out the criteria that safe, responsible and high-quality cosmetic care must meet.

Cosmetic treatments are medical treatments. Therefore, it is important to us that clients are well-informed beforehand, that treatments are only carried out by authorised and competent healthcare providers, and that every treatment is carefully recorded in the medical file.

Our guiding principles

At SkinSurgery Clinics, every patient receives a medical assessment prior to a treatment. During the consultation, the patient's request, medical history, medication, any contraindications, expectations, and treatment options are discussed.

The attending physician assesses whether there is a suitable medical indication for the desired treatment. If a treatment is medically unjustifiable or if the client's expectations are unrealistic, SkinSurgery Clinics may decide not to carry out the treatment.

Authorised and competent healthcare providers

Treatments at SkinSurgery Clinics are exclusively performed by authorised and qualified doctors and healthcare professionals. Our doctors possess the correct medical background, relevant experience and, where applicable, BIG registration and professional registration.

We work with internal protocols, training, inter-collegial consultation, and periodic evaluation to monitor and further improve the quality of our treatments.

Safety and medical screening

For every treatment, an assessment is carried out of the client's health situation. In doing so, we look at aspects such as medical history, medication use, allergies, previous treatments, smoking habits, wound healing, risks, and any contraindications.

Before surgical procedures, an assessment is carried out to determine the client's suitability for the operation. This assessment considers factors such as age, medical risks, complexity of the treatment, and findings during the consultation.

Cosmetic procedures are not performed on individuals under 18 years of age, unless there is an exceptional situation that falls within current laws and regulations and professional guidelines.

Informed consent

Treatment only takes place after the client has been sufficiently informed and has given consent. The client will be explained the treatment, the expected outcome, alternatives, risks, possible complications, recovery period, aftercare and costs.

We believe realistic expectations are essential. A cosmetic treatment can provide improvement, but guarantees of an exact result can never be given.

Dossier filing

SkinSurgery Clinics carefully records relevant medical information in the medical file. This includes, but is not limited to, the patient's request, medical history, indication, treatment plan, consent, medical photographs if necessary, treatment performed, products or materials used, aftercare, and follow-up appointments.

Medical data are processed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the WGBO and the GDPR.

Aftercare, complications and re-treatments

Following treatment, the client will receive clear instructions regarding recovery, lifestyle guidelines, warning signs, and contact details. If the client has any questions or concerns after treatment, they can contact the clinic.

Complications, incidents, and re-treatments are registered and evaluated internally. We use this information to continuously improve our care.

Medication safety and materials

SkinSurgery Clinics uses controlled medicines, medical devices and materials. We pay attention to correct storage, shelf life, traceability, hygiene and safe use. Where necessary, we collaborate with external experts, such as a supervising pharmacist.

Learning and improving

Quality is a continuous process for us. We work with protocols, audits, internal controls, training, complication discussions, and improvement measures. This is how we monitor the quality and safety of our cosmetic medical care.

Complaints and areas for improvement

We do everything we can to treat our clients with care. However, it may occur that someone is not satisfied. In that case, we would like to hear about it. SkinSurgery Clinics has a complaints procedure and is affiliated with an independent complaints and dispute resolution scheme.
