How does a filler dissolving treatment with ultrasound work?

Consultation with doctor

Consultation with doctor

If you are on consultation with our specialist to dissolve fillers using ultrasound, all your questions and preferences will be discussed. The certified cosmetic doctor will examine the area where the filler was placed, discuss which filler was used, and provide personalized advice. The treatment process will be explained, including what you can expect during and after the procedure, as well as the expected final result. Post-treatment care, potential risks, and the outcome will also be addressed. If you decide to proceed with the treatment, all details will be documented in your file, and you will sign the treatment agreement together with our cosmetic doctor. Photos will be taken to compare with the final result at a later stage. Please note that you may need to visit multiple times before the filler is fully dissolved, as this varies from person to person.

Treatment

Treatment

During the treatment, a firm gel will be applied to help the ultrasound device glide more easily over the area. It is crucial to carefully locate the filler and determine the amount present. This ensures precise application of Hyalase, the enzyme used to dissolve the filler, minimizing the risk of complications. We always aim for a natural result, restoring balance to your face or enabling the filler to be rebuilt using the correct technique. After the treatment, the area may swell. We recommend applying a cold compress or ice pack several times to reduce swelling.

3.

Aftercare

3.

Aftercare

After the treatment, you can go home immediately. The skin may still be slightly red, swollen, or have small bruises. This will resolve on its own and is not serious. We recommend avoiding exercise and alcohol consumption for at least the first 24 hours. Do not expose the skin to heat (such as tanning beds or saunas). After approximately 14 days, the filler will have dissolved, and you will return for a follow-up appointment. During this visit, we will check if the filler has completely dissolved and, if necessary, further dissolve any remaining filler.

Risks

Risks

The risk of complications is very low. As with any surgery, there is a small risk of infection or allergy.

After having lip fillers for a few years, I noticed that the filler started to sit above my lip. Following Dr. Sabanovic's advice, the filler was dissolved. The treatment was sensitive but not painful, and after two weeks, I no longer had a thick ridge above my lips. I chose to have the filler placed again, but this time much less, based on advice. I'm happy that it was resolved well and even more pleased with the natural result!

Ultrasound-guided Filler Dissolution: Recovery Time

During a no-obligation consultation, you will be provided with all the necessary information, including pre- and post-care, our advice, and we will be transparent about our prices. You can choose to be treated immediately, and you can sign our treatment agreement. After the treatment, the treated area may be swollen, and some bruising may occur. Don't worry, this is completely normal and will resolve on its own. We advise against exercising, visiting the sauna, or using tanning beds for the first 24 hours. After two weeks, you will come for a follow-up appointment, where we will check if the filler has completely dissolved. If it hasn't, we will treat the area again. After dissolution, you can choose to have filler re-injected using the right techniques. At SkinSurgery, we take a holistic approach and always opt for a natural and subtle appearance.

Ultrasound-guided Filler Dissolution: Ultrasound

The use of ultrasound is essential to perform the procedure safely; only in this way can we guarantee the most beautiful and natural result without causing unnecessary tissue damage. With our ultrasound device, we can show you visually where the filler is located. This allows us to inject the Hyalase (which dissolves the filler) in the precise areas.

The goal at SkinSurgery is always to create a naturally balanced and harmonious result. By using ultrasound, we can carefully dissolve fillers without disturbing the surrounding areas. This allows us to restore a more natural appearance and, with the right technique, rebuild the filler as needed.

Ultrasound-guided Filler Dissolution: Expertise

Although the process of dissolving fillers may seem simple, expertise is essential. It requires a skilled and experienced cosmetic doctor who can understand the anatomy and approach the procedure with an aesthetic eye. Our specialist Amra Sabanovichas extensive experience in the field of injectables and filler dissolution.

Ultrasound-guided Filler Dissolution: Why?

When fillers are injected with the wrong technique or when the area is overfilled, it can cause the face to become unbalanced, leading to an unnatural appearance. In such cases, you may choose to have the filler(s) dissolved using ultrasound guidance. Fillers are usually injected into specific areas to add volume, fill wrinkles, or shape the face. When a filler is not placed as intended or when the result is unsatisfactory, the balance of the face can be disrupted, resulting in an unnatural look. We always advise first returning to the doctor who performed your treatment. The second step is dissolving the fillers, which should only be done by an experienced specialist.

At SkinSurgery, we use ultrasound to carry out the process of dissolving fillers in a controlled manner. This approach is both safe and effective. With our ultrasound technology, we can precisely see where the filler is located beneath the skin. Our expert in injectables and filler dissolution, Drs. Fillers, what exactly are they?

At the end of the day, a filler is nothing more than hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid already occurs naturally in your body and hydrates your skin. By injecting it into the middle and lower layer of skin, the skin is hydrated from within, this ensures a long-term improvement in skin quality. Fillers can also restore volume to the face and provide a rejuvenating and lifting effect through deep injection into the skin layers.

How long is the effect of filler?

How long results are visible varies from filler to filler. We assume an average duration of action between 6 and 12 months.

What is filler used for?

The filler is used to rejuvenate facial wrinkles. Often after a stressful period, due to losing weight or aging, for example, your face starts to show signs. Soluble non-permanent fillers are ideal for blurring signs of ageing and fatigue. The name actually says it all, namely: filler. The filler restores volume to certain areas of your face. Here you can think of lifting the cheeks, reducing the nasolabial fold and lifting the corners of the mouth.

Is injecting filler safe?

A lot of research has been done on filler injection. You will also read a lot in the media about the good and not so good experiences. Scientific research and our own experience have shown that the use of fillers is completely safe. The fillers Skin + Surgery Clinics works with are of high quality and completely biodegradable. In addition, our doctors always ensure a subtle result and guard against overfilling and an unnatural look. Our doctors therefore give honest advice at all times. Should we be of the opinion that your chosen treatment will lead to an unnatural look, we will discuss this in detail and in consultation decide not to carry out the treatment in this way.
