How does this treatment work?

Consultation with the doctor

1.

Consultation with the doctor

In a consultation with our female doctor/surgeon, you will get answers to whether your vagina deviates from the norm and whether you are suitable for a labia correction. You must be at least 18 years old, as your labia are then mature. There is no such thing as a standard vagina. You are eligible for labia correction if your inner labia protrude too far and/or if you experience symptoms of bulging labia.

During the no-obligation consultation, our specialist will ask about your symptoms and wishes. Your labia will be examined, after which the treatment options will be discussed. You will receive clear information and explanations about the treatment, aftercare, risks, costs and the expected end result. Photographs will be taken beforehand, which can later be compared with the final result.

It is important to note that you must be at least 18 years old.

Treatment

Pubic lip surgery illustration photos

A labia correction is a common treatment at SkinSurgery Clinics, where excess skin tissue is cut away under local anaesthetic. Should you be very nervous, we can prescribe a sedative tablet. It is a minor procedure with permanent natural results. The outpatient treatment takes about 1 hour and is always performed by an experienced and highly qualified female surgeon. You may return home after the treatment and after a short recovery time.

No obvious scars remain after the labia correction. The inner and outer labia are balanced after the procedure and they form a natural whole. The inner labia no longer bulge. They may, however, retain a slightly irregular, asymmetrical appearance. This is normal. You will recover from the surgery within 1-2 weeks and be able to resume your daily activities. The labia almost always retain their natural sensitivity. The final result can be seen after 6 to 9 weeks.

Aftercare and recovery

Aftercare and recovery

Pubic lip surgery progressions

The surgery may be accompanied by some post-operative pain and swelling in the pubic area. You can take a painkiller against the pain. Swelling should be controlled immediately after the procedure and for several days with a bag of frozen peas or cold compress. Keep the wound clean by rinsing it at least twice a day while showering. You may rub the wound and surrounding area with a cream after this.

The wound is stitched with soluble sutures after the labia correction and is not bandaged. It is therefore wise to wear a panty liner or sanitary towel against any loss of blood. In the first four to six weeks after the procedure, do not engage in heavy physical activity, such as physical work, intense sports or heavy lifting. During the recovery period, wait 4-6 weeks before having sex.

Below you will see pictures of how recovery can go in the first 2 weeks. Remember that everyone is unique and it may be different for you. So be well informed during a personal consultation.

Risks

Risks

The risk of complications after a labia correction is virtually nil. Slight post-operative bleeding can sometimes occur or the wound can become infected and inflamed. Smoking results in poorer wound healing and increases the risk of inflammation. The experienced specialists at SkinSurgery work using state-of-the-art treatment techniques and the best instruments to ensure safe and result-oriented treatment.

Good and knowledgeable team!

For years I had been thinking about having this surgery. Finally, in a spontaneous moment, I booked a consultation and I could not have wished for a better experience. Dr. Amra is incredibly skilled, patient and friendly. During the surgery, together with the assistant Marije, she reassured me, gave me love advice and helped me tremendously. When I saw the end result, I had to cry: what a relief and it was done incredibly well. Now in my recovery period, I hardly experience any discomfort - the aftercare instructions were clear. Doc. Amra, thank you! Because of you, my life will never be the same again and I can finally see myself in a new light.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a question that is not answered? Feel free to contact us Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 and 22:00, at the following number or email.

What is the difference between a regular labiaplasty and a V-lift?

A standard labiaplasty focuses on removing excess tissue, while the V-lift with fillers or laser treatment improves skin structure and firmness.

What are the costs of a labiaplasty?

Costs start at €950. An exact price will be determined during a consultation.

Is labiaplasty painful?

Local anesthesia is used during the procedure, making it painless. Some post-operative pain and swelling may occur.

How does a labiaplasty proceed?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, takes approximately one to one and a half hours and is performed on an outpatient basis by an experienced cosmetic doctor or surgeon.

Who is a labia correction not suitable for?

Labiaplasty is not suitable for everyone. This procedure is particularly discouraged for women who do not experience any physical or psychological complaints, but are only concerned about the appearance of their labia based on unrealistic beauty ideals. It is important to realize that every vagina is unique – there is no standard or "perfect" shape. If you are insecure about your labia without it causing physical discomfort or emotional distress, it is advisable to ask yourself whether surgical intervention will actually contribute to your well-being and self-image. In addition, there is a minimum age requirement: The labia must be fully developed before a correction can be considered. Therefore, labiaplasty is only possible for patients aged 18 and over. Younger patients are therefore not eligible, even if there is a medical indication. In summary, labiaplasty is not suitable for: – Women under 18 – Individuals without physical or psychological complaints, but with solely cosmetic concerns – Women with unrealistic expectations of the result – Individuals with a distorted body image or underlying psychological issues If in doubt, it is always wise to first request a free consultation with a physician specializing in intimate surgery. During this consultation, your complaints, wishes, and expectations will be discussed in detail.

How long does recovery take after labiaplasty?

Recovery usually takes about six weeks. The first few days may be tender, and swelling and bruising are normal.

Who is a labiaplasty suitable for?

The treatment is suitable for women who experience physical discomfort or feel insecure about the shape or size of their inner labia.

Are there any risks associated with labiaplasty treatment?

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks, such as infection, scarring, or temporary numbness, but these are rare.

What is labiaplasty?

A labiaplasty (labiaplasty) is a surgical procedure that removes excess tissue from the inner labia to address physical complaints or cosmetic concerns.
