Lip and mouth area Botox treatment
Botox can be used for various purposes on the lips and around the mouth. For example, this includes correcting asymmetrical lips, reducing a gummy smile, or treating downturned corners of the mouth. With a targeted Botox treatment, we can create subtle yet beautiful improvements around the mouth.
There are various reasons for having Botox in the lips. Whether this treatment is suitable for you depends on your specific indication and wishes. Botox, also known as botulinum toxin, has a muscle-relaxing effect. This makes it an effective treatment for correcting asymmetrical lips, a gummy smile, or downturned mouth corners.
Botox for asymmetrical lips
Do you suffer from asymmetrical lips? We can often correct this beautifully. When the asymmetry is caused by a difference in volume between the lips, a lip filler treatment can be the best solution.
However, asymmetry sometimes arises because the small muscles around the mouth do not move equally. In that case, we can use Botox around the lips to relax a muscle slightly more. This makes the asymmetry less visible and creates a more attractive balance in the lips.
Botox for downturned corners of the mouth
too drooping corners of the mouth can be treated with Botox. These are often caused by the muscles that pull the corners of the mouth downwards being too strong. By injecting Botox around the mouth, we can relax these muscles. This results in a subtle lift of the corners of the mouth and marionette lines often become less visible.
Botox for a gummy smile
gummy smile genoemd gummy smile This is referred to. With Botox to the lips, we can relax the muscles that pull the upper lip up too much. This results in less gum being visible when laughing and often makes the smile appear softer and more natural.
Lip flip treatment with Botox
In addition to the above treatments, we also perform a Botox lip flip. During a lip flip, a small amount of Botox is injected into the muscle just above the upper lip. This causes the muscle to relax slightly, making the upper lip tilt subtly outwards.
The effect of a lip flip is to make the lip appear fuller without adding extra volume with fillers. This treatment can also help when the upper lip rolls inwards or is less visible when smiling.
