How to get rid of your dark puffiness?

How good that this question is being asked. We hear it often. You sleep badly, get dehydrated easily and feel less energetic. All this has affected your body, and not just your eyes. At some point you look in the mirror and you have puffiness.

What we recommend here is not a ready-made solution to your puffiness problem, but we believe that different combinations of factors can help you.

  1. Make sure your hormones are balanced and that you get enough rest. Stress increases your cortisol levels, causing poor sleep. Relaxing yoga or meditation exercises can restore your sleep and energy levels.
  2. Drink plenty of water and avoid salt. Dark circles are signs of dehydration. Make sure you drink enough 2-3 litres a day and you will see your body cleanse itself.
  3. Laugh a lot, cry little. The swelling under your eyes after crying causes the skin under your eyes to stretch. Considering the skin under your eyes is 6x thinner than the rest of your body, the elasticity doesn't come back easily. You have probably already tried several eye creams, if not try eye creams that contain vitamins C and E that nourish and firm the skin. A good eye cream is SkinCeuticals' A.G.E. eye complex.
  4. Fillers is also a great option as a treatment for puffiness if there is obvious volume loss under your eyes. By placing the filler at the site of the puffiness, the skin is better hydrated and less likely to sag. Not all puffiness is suitable for filler treatment. Sometimes a filler can actually accentuate puffiness. Get proper advice from a cosmetic doctor before proceeding with this treatment.
  5. When the skin under your eyes is very sagging and elasticity is not coming back, it is a good indication to do a lower eyelid correction. During this procedure, we remove excess skin and tighten the lower layer, restoring a smooth appearance to the skin under your eyes. Whether you need an eyelid correction to correct your puffiness depends on the skin laxity and firmness of the lower layer. Again, it is important to get advice from a cosmetic surgeon.

Having puffiness is a common problem. Fortunately, we can also do a lot about it. Do you have any questions or would you like a personal consultation? You are welcome for a no-obligation consultation.
