What is the aftercare of a thread lift treatment?
- Aesthetic (facial) treatments should only be performed with the doctor's consent.
- Avoid using hair dyes and treatments with irritants for at least a month.
- No make-up should be used for three days after treatment.
- Physical activities can be resumed after two or three weeks after treatments.
- Avoid exposure to direct (sun) light or intense heat (such as tanning beds and saunas) for at least a month.
What can I do for a wire lift treatment?
- Inform your doctor about any medication use (especially if you take cortisone, antibiotics, sleeping pills, sedative pills, contraception and the like).
- Stop taking medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid (such as aspirin).
- Inform your doctor if you get a cold, sore throat, cough and/or suffer from a skin condition.
- Wash your hair the night before the treatment.
- Do not wear nail polish or make-up on the day of treatment.
- Don't smoke.
Who cannot be treated with a wire lift?
- Persons allergic to polydiaxone, polylactone or coprolactone.
- Persons under treatment for malignancies and autoimmune diseases, among others.
- Persons under 18 years of age.
- Persons who have infections or acute inflammations in the skin areas to be treated (acne, herpes, etc.).
- Persons who have undergone dental surgery immediately before this treatment.
- Individuals suffering from an autoimmune disease and/or receiving immunotherapy.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women.Patients with extremely sagging skin.
- Patients with a predisposition to forming hypertrophic (wide, pink) scars. Patients with an extreme degree of fatty tissue loss in the face or neck.
Is placing the wires safe?
Wire lift placement is very safe at Tha-In Clinics. Doctor Thanya Tha-In is the specialist in this field. In addition, sutures are used that dissolve slowly. So no permanent wires are placed. This makes the chances of permanent complications very low.
How does wire lift placement work?
First, the doctor will advise you on which threads are best for you and explain what result you can expect. After this, we administer a local anaesthetic, making the treatment completely painless. After anaesthesia, several sutures are inserted into the deeper layer of skin using a needle. The needle is removed again and the suture is left in the skin. These sutures tighten, causing the underlying skin layers to pull slightly taut. You immediately see the results of the mechanical lifting. The threads are completely dissolved after six to 12 months. As they dissolve, collagen (connective tissue) will form around the sutures. The collagen creates firm, full and elastic skin. The treatment is usually completed within an hour and you can go home immediately after the wire lift is placed.
How long is the effect of the thread lift treatment visible?
A thread lift has a shorter recovery time than surgery and you will not be left with scars. You will see some of the result immediately, but the full result approximately after 4-6 weeks. The thread lift has a long-term effect of 1-2 years, depending on age and degree of collagen formation.
