During the consultation with the cosmetic doctor, ample time is taken to discuss everything. The cosmetic doctor looks at your skin structure and discusses which areas need extra volume and how many treatments this will require. You can also ask all your questions and express your wishes. The doctor will tell you how the treatment will proceed and what you can expect from the final result. A good explanation will be given about aftercare, any risks and the end result you can expect. Would you like to undergo the treatment? Then everything will be noted in your file and you will sign the treatment agreement together with the cosmetic doctor. Photographs are taken for your file, which can be compared with the final result.
Sculptra will be injected into the spoken areas using a narrow needle. Most filler treatments are done without anaesthesia. Do you find this an unpleasant feeling? Then a numbing cream can be used in consultation with the doctor. To combat swelling, the skin will be cooled with an icepack after the treatment.
A connective tissue massage is recommended with this treatment as it stimulates the process and guarantees more beautiful results. The connective tissue massage is scheduled after the Sculptra treatment.
After treatment, you can go home immediately. Sometimes the skin will still be a little red and small bruises will appear. This will go away by itself and is not serious. You are advised to avoid sports and alcohol for at least the first 24 hours. Do not bring the skin into contact with extreme heat (tanning bed, sauna).
The risk of complications very small. There is, as with any surgery, a small risk of infection or allergy.

Sculptra is an injectable that stimulates collagen production in the skin. This tightens the skin, gives back volume and can soften deep wrinkles. Because Sculptra stimulates your body to start making more collagen, it is a very natural treatment that provides long-term support.
However, the process takes time. The immediate results you are used to from your filler treatment with hyaluronic acid, you won't have with Sculptra. Collagen production has to get going and start bearing its fruit. On average, you will see the first effects after 6 weeks, but they will last much longer.
The best areas to treat with Sculptra are those prone to volume loss, such as the temples and cheeks. Wrinkles such as marionette lines and the nasolabial fold can also be beautifully softened.
To ensure the most beautiful results, massage is necessary. Initially to prevent you from getting nodules and then to give an extra boost to collagen production. You can do the massage yourself for the first few days after treatment, following your doctor's instructions. However, the connective tissue massage is best left to a specialist. We know the power of connective tissue massages after Sculptra. That is why the tight me up package allows you to visit our skin specialist twice.
Finally, you can provide additional support to the skin with Collagen Active from Yuugii. This collagen powder effectively provides the skin with key building blocks to support the body in producing new, firm and resilient collagen in the skin.
With the Tight me up treatment, you optimise your Sculptra results: two vials of Sculptra, two appointments for connective tissue massages AND collagen powder. Make an appointment now for non-binding advice. You can find us in The Hague, Bergschenhoek near Rotterdam.

To ensure optimal results and a gradual, long-lasting effect of Sculptra, it is important to follow your doctor's aftercare instructions. Recommendations for aftercare are as follows:
Sculptra, filler and wrinkle relaxers: all three have different effects and purposes. Whereas the wrinkle relaxer relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, the filler and Sculptra create more volume and shape. However, they combine well with each other and actually create a 'total picture'. Performed by a good doctor, who listens carefully to your wishes and looks at your face, all treatments can work well together and still be very natural. By combining treatments, get the best out of your skin, restore volume to your vision and soften wrinkles.
Want more volume in moveable areas of the face such as your lips or tear ducts? Then a classic hyaluronic acid filler suitable for you. This one gives instant volume and stays in place.
Sculptra on the other hand, takes longer to give visible effect, about 3-4 months, but is also ideal for more volume. It is a good treatment for people with a lot of volume loss, and ageing skin and sunken cheeks or temples. Sculptra stimulates collagen production and firms the skin, improves its texture and gives you a younger look again.
Wrinkle relaxers are great for dynamic lines created by our expression and facial expressions. Think of forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet.
You may feel lumps under the skin immediately after treatment. Often this is swelling and goes away within four weeks. If the lump remains noticeable for longer, it may be a small accumulation of the material used (polu-L-lactic acid) that has not been able to distribute evenly. These bumps take longer to disappear completely.
Should Sculptra bumps appear, they may cause discolouration of the skin. There are cases where these bumps, also known as granulomas, have appeared a year after treatment. They can occur with the wrong injection technique or when the area was not massaged sufficiently. However, there are thinning massage techniques, which can remedy Sculptra side effects if they occur. Furthermore, it is therefore extremely important to have your Sculptra treatment performed by a specialised cosmetic doctor.
Finally, keloid formation and hypertrophic scars can occur after a Sculptra treatment. Sculptra works by stimulating collagen; the biggest cause of keloid formation. If you are sensitive to this, consult with your doctor whether Sculptra treatment is suitable for you.
After your Sculptra treatment, your body has to start doing the work to produce more collagen. The first visible changes are visible on average three months after your treatment. After four to six months after your treatment, the results are often optimal.
You will then enjoy your Sculptra treatment for 2-3 years.
A Sculptra treatment consists of a number of injections performed by a doctor. Before the treatments, your goals are discussed and which areas need to be treated. Based on this, the injection sites are marked where the Sculptra will be injected. For many people, it is a painless, quick treatment that takes about 30 minutes. After injection, the area is briefly massaged to allow the Sculptra to spread well and prevent any bumps. You may continue to massage the area yourself for the first week after treatment. The doctor will show you how.
You can often resume your daily activities immediately after your treatment. It is normal to see extra volume in the areas that have been injected. This will subside within a few days. The same goes for any bruising and swelling. If necessary, you can camouflage these with some make-up.
